SPECIAL REMEDIES TO BE DONE ON DIWALI

DIWALI has special significance for doing and initiating astrological remedies. Let’s understand why? ASTROLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF DIWALI: Diwali falls on Amavasya – Sun and Moon – the two luminaries and important astrological planets that come together this day are placed in Tula (Libra) Rashi and Swati Nakshatra. The evil spirits and negative energies are said to be strongest on Amavasya or No Moon day. Hence, stronger remedies or upaay which are done on this day are effective in warding off such strong negativity from one’s life. The Libra sign is a sign of balance and righteousness, of trade and business, of peace and harmony. Swati Nakshatra represents freedom, self-confidence and learning. Above all, it represents Goddess Saraswati – all forms of arts, communication, knowledge, etc. Swati is an auspicious Nakshatra. It helps one to accomplish the most difficult tasks and to move ahead, overcoming obstacles. The following remedies can be done/initiated on Diwali for maximum results: Tie a toran made of Asoka leaves and marigold (गेंदा) flowers at the entrance. This helps remove negativity in your house or commercial space. In case you are facing severe problems in your life, do this remedy. On Diwali night, light a lamp (दीपक) under a peepal tree after sunset. After lighting the lamp, walk back home without looking back and without uttering a word. This is a very good remedy, especially for those under Sade Sati or those having Shani Dosha. This, in essence, is a very effective remedy for those facing financial problems. Take three gomati chakra, three yellow cowries and three turmeric knots (हल्दी की गांठ). Tie them in a yellow cloth. Place this at the pooja place on Diwali night and thereafter keep it in your locker or cash box. 4. This remedy is for those who are suffering from some speech disorders, such as stammering. Take 11 cowries and burn them to ash on Diwali. Immerse this ash in flowing water. Continue for 5 consecutive Wednesdays. Don’t forget to light a diya in the southwest corner of your house. Moreover, this is an important Vastu tip. This is a valuable remedy for those who fail to get a good job even after repeated attempts. On Diwali, early morning (before sunrise), go to a crossroad (चौराहा) – where four roads meet with a lemon and a knife. Once you reach there, cut the lemon into four pieces; throw a piece in each direction; all the time mentally repeating your wish for a good job. After this, return without looking back even once. You can continue this for 7 consecutive days for the best results. If your business is not doing well or you are not getting a good flow of customers, try this remedy. Establish the Indrani yantra at your pooja or workplace on Diwali night. Surely, you shall see quick results. Those who have Chandra Grahan yoga or Angarak yoga in their horoscopes should not venture out of the house on Diwali night. On Diwali night, take the root of the banyan tree (बरगद की जड़) and a silk thread. Colour the thread with red sandalwood paste. Thereafter, tie the banyan root with the coloured silk thread at the main door of your residence or commercial premises after Laxmi puja. This remedy is for those eligible males and females who want to get married. Then place 11 marigold flowers on the altar, while doing pooja on Diwali night. Worship it with saffron (केसर)/turmeric (हल्दी) and place a ghee lamp in front of it (not too close), the whole night. Thereafter, in the morning, grind the flowers with Gangajal and saffron or turmeric. Apply this paste to your hands. Continue applying for 2-3 days or till the paste lasts. On Diwali night, burn camphor and clove in a silver or earthen vessel at the pooja place without fail. This will help ward off any problems related to spirits, bad omens, and all types of Vastu Dosha. Moreover, this remedy is a must, especially when anyone in the house has pitra dosha. HOW DO ASTROLOGICAL REMEDIES WORK?

Why exactly do we need Astrological remedies? Man is constantly in pursuit of happiness and peace and seeks to avoid all that is unpleasant and painful. But this is not always the case. We all do have to undergo some miseries, sufferings, trials and tribulations in our lives. This is due to our past deeds or karma. Astrology is based on the philosophy of Karma. The placements, phases and strengths of planets in the birth chart are not a random permutation or a coincidental combination. They reflect our past karma; the good karma shows up in the form of benefic planets while the malefic planets emphasize the negative karma. Planets can be classified as benefic, malefic or neutral. No planet is good or bad in itself; its placement and condition in the birth chart decide whether it will prove to be beneficial or detrimental to the native. Sometimes the benefic planets are weak; they need to be strengthened so that they can give the potential good results. On the other hand, the malefic planets need to be propitiated to reduce their negative effects. The uniqueness of Vedic Astrology is that it recommends a whole range of remedies to fortify the weak benefic planets and to pacify the malefic ones. How do astrological remedies work? Astrological remedies are nothing but practical, mystical, or psychic antidotes which lessen or nullify the impact of our past negative karma. Our Destiny is shaped by our past karmic actions. Remedies involve doing something or abstaining from doing something; this action or inaction is karma in itself! So when one undertakes to do some remedy, he is actually is embarking to reverse some bad karma of the past. When he does remedies for strengthening the weak benefic planets, he is essentially boosting their effectiveness by doing some more good karma. Our fate is decided by our karma; we can use our free will to take remedial measures. Astrological remedies can be broadly classified as follows: MANTRAS: Sanskrit mantras are energy-based sounds possessing vibrational and resonating powers. Mantras are connected to a particular planet or a deity representative of that planet and different mantas have varying potencies. Mantra chanting is called ‘Japa’. YANTRA: Yantras are geometrical and mathematical graphic symbols or drawings with precise measurements. Yantras too reverberate energy in varied ways. Planetary Yantras placed in the right direction create positive and constructive energies and are instrumental in warding off negativity. ASTROLOGICAL REMEDIAL PRODUCTS : Astrological remedies include the usage of certain products such as gems, Rudraksha, crystals, herbs, charms, etc. to strengthen the power of benefic planets or to ward off negative effects of malefic planets. SERVICE: Service to others is considered the best form of remedial measures in Astrology. This can be in the form of charity, donation or offering some services to the needy and the poor people. Different kinds of donations are prescribed for different planets. CHANGE OF ATTITUDES AND HABITS: This is another very effective form of remedial measure to rectify and improve our karma. Often, we are forced to think or act in a particular manner due to the planetary position or alignment in our birth horoscope that can be unfavorable to us. In such a case, it is highly recommended that we adopt or give up some of our habits or attitudes resulting from such an alignment. This can be in the form of adopting the virtues of patience, giving up some vices such as anger, or some food items such as salt or sugar, etc. FASTING: This involves voluntary depriving oneself of food or some other thing of one’s liking and choice. This kind of voluntary abstinence of some pleasure or desirable thing also works as a remedy to pacify the negative effects or strengthen the positive impact of planets. BLESSINGS: The blessings of our elders – our parents, our teachers, etc. play a very important role in mitigating the negative influences of malefic planets. Of course, they bless you when you have done some real good deed – in other words, good karma comes into play! COLOUR THERAPY: Each planet has its own distinct colour to which it vibrates and responds. Hence using colour therapy works as an astrological remedy. FOLK REMEDIES: These are simple yet effective remedies commonly called ‘totka’ or ‘upay’. The famous Lal Kitab remedies largely consist of such practical remedies which can be used in everyday life. RELIGIOUS: This astrological remedy includes prayers, rituals, worship of deities, Yagya (sacrificial fire), yatras (trips to sanctified places), etc. Yes, certain specified places of worship are recommended for the pacification of malefic planets. For example, Trimbakeshwar temple near Nashik, India is specifically famous for performing pooja (the act of worship) to alleviate the malefic effects of Rahu and Ketu and reduce the negative impacts of Kaal Sarpa Dosha and Pitru Dosha. SPIRITUAL REMEDIES: Spiritual remedies such as yoga, meditation, etc. go a long way in strengthening our willpower and propitiating the planets in a permanent way. Whatever remedy is used, it eventually involves invoking, aligning and resonating the individual energies with the Universal Energy thereby creating the ultimate balance! Some important things to be kept in mind while performing remedies: There are no hard and fast rules about astrological remedies. They should be relevant to the Desh (place), Kaal (time) and Paatra (distinctive identity) of the doer. The astrological remedies should be done by the person himself. When you are sick, it is you only who has to take the medicine or undergo the treatment. No one else can do it for you. In some exceptional cases of infants or sick or aged people who cannot do the remedy themselves, reciting or listening to mantras, using of Yantras/gems/rudraksha, etc. is recommended. Be patient; do not expect immediate or quick results. You are writing off your past karmas; it takes time
